Awesome list. I’m a big, big fan of science fiction precisely because it deals so frequently with tough philosophical topics. Total Recall and Terminator are two great examples. I’d toss in pretty much every Star Trek tv series and a few of the movies as well.
If I may, I’d like to make just one friendly recommendation to you, Elizabeth. If you haven’t seen it, check out Demolition Man with Sly Stallone, Sandra Bullock, and Wesley Snipes. Lots of explosions, gunplay, and cheesy one-liners, but it also has a whole lot to say about authoritarianism, personal autonomy, and false utopias. It’s actually held up pretty well over the years, and I think you’d like it (especially if you enjoyed those other sci-fi flicks)!
