Five years ago, I gave up alcohol. That was pretty easy (not an alcoholic, but my family has a history of it, so I decided to just kick it).

Two years ago, I quit smoking cold turkey. For some reason, I had a much easier time of it than I had the first couple of times I tried to quit (mental illness might have been a factor here), but it was still a little hard.

Last year, I gave up all caffeine. I get an occasional heart arrhythmia so I figured I ought to play it safe. But I really miss regular coffee. A lot. Decaf is ok, but just not the same.

This year, I’m trying to do the vegetarian thing, and I actually think this is easier than any of the other stuff I mentioned, which is shocking to me. I do miss burgers and steaks, but I haven’t had any difficulty avoiding the temptation to buy beef at the store. And I don’t miss pork, turkey or chicken at all.

Anyways, just wanted to share. Good luck with staying meat-free! I hope it continues to be this easy for both of us!
