Great point about how the system is designed. The system wasn’t meant to give us only 2 legitimate choices in each election, but that’s what we ended up getting. And I do feel that a change is in order. I personally would prefer a runoff system for presidential elections (and state and local ones too, though that’s up to the residents of those states and localities to decide for themselves). Sadly, as you sort of implied in your comment, the odds that something like that will ever come to pass aren’t very good.
