I disagree, but I do understand where you’re coming from.
I believe we will one day discover that 99% of violent crime can be attributed to one of three factors: immaturity (in cases involving juvenile offenders), culture (such as being raised in a violent and abusive home), or some type of psychological/neurological disorder. And if I’m correct about that, we should be able to find methods for rehabilitating almost everyone who lands in prison. For the few who can’t be helped, I believe life imprisonment is sufficient, especially since it is the only way we can be certain that we’re not putting any innocent people to death.
That said, thank you for being so respectful about this. Civil disagreements are rare on the internet, lol, so I really do appreciate it! And of course, thanks for taking the time to read the piece!
