I totally agree with the tone and tenor of this post, but I personally don’t think that much is going to change. Just as we did with Saddam and are doing with China, we’ll continue to give Saudi Arabia a free pass so long as our elected leaders regard the relationship as a net benefit for the West. It’s frustrating and disappointing, but there never seems to be much of a collective desire to take any meaningful action against Saudi Arabia. I’d be thrilled if that changed, but I doubt that this incident is enough to do it.
