Kerry is indeed a weak candidate. Totally agree with you on that. I don’t know though that the Democrats really have to move left to have a chance against Trump. I think the most important thing is to nominate someone who can inspire Indies and young people to show up to the polls like Obama was able to do in ’08. Moving left could help with increasing turnout among the party’s base, but I’ve got to think that the base is already so fired up about getting Trump out of the White House that they’ll show up and vote for almost anyone with a “D” next to their name.

Whatever the Dems do, I agree that they can’t go with someone like Kerry. He’s too old school, too ordinary, and too out of touch to effectively rally voters to his side.
