“So, once I started using simple words such as ‘just’ or end a sentence with ‘today’, everything just became easier. For example, when I start my day, I tell myself, ‘I’m not going to eat any sugar, today.’ I don’t say I won’t eat it indefinitely, but just today.’

I relate to this in a major way. Good on you for taking this approach. I laugh to myself a bit when I hear my friends, most of whom are in their 30s, talking about how they’ve got to do x, y and z before they hit 40. Something will happen today, tomorrow or the next day that forces them to change their plans. Always does. That’s why I try not to look too far ahead and focus instead on the here and now, just like you do.

And 10 journals? That’s pretty incredible. I have like two papers from grade school and that’s it, lol. Must be super interesting to be able to reconnect with your younger self like that, though. :)
