Thank you for the kind words, Elle. I have to admit that I too hadn’t considered OCD from a philosophical perspective until I really started to dig into determinism. That’s when the parallel struck me — OCD operates very much like the voice of determinism in the sense that it’s hostile towards free will and tries very hard to manipulate you into giving up your independence and autonomy. And that realization helped me understand why I had such a visceral reaction to determinism when I first learned of it.

But anyways, it’s always really nice to hear when a fellow OCD sufferer has found success. I’m quite happy to hear that you’re doing well with ERT! I haven’t gotten that far yet — my therapist is trying some other tricks first, though they haven’t been as successful as I’d hoped. We’ll see how it goes.
