Thank you for the kindly advice, Greg! I’ll be sure to keep it in mind as I continue to explore this subject and try to figure out where I stand.

I wholly agree that my attraction to faith is much more than just a “chemical reaction.” In fact, I sometimes feel like faith in the divine is an innately human characteristic that was designed to serve a very specific (and beneficial) purpose.

That being said, feelings can often confuse you and lead you to the wrong conclusions. And so for my own sake, I have to continue to test those feelings, explore them, challenge them, put them under a microscope, and then see what I’m left with before I draw any hard conclusions about the existence of a higher power or afterlife.

Hopefully it’ll be a pleasant journey with a happy ending!
