The ultimate Rorschach test. On the one hand, you could see this as an extremely depressing state of affairs — two neighbors locked in a sociopolitical duel that has little chance of ever resolving itself. Very sad, indeed.

On the other hand, you could see this as an encouraging indication that, in some parts of America, it’s still possible for two neighbors with vastly different (and probably irreconcilable) worldviews to live side by side in relative peace.

My heart tells me it’s the latter. My head says it’s the former.
