This is a perfect description for what 24-hour infotainment media outlets were built to do--inundate the general public with "bullshit" like false and/or misleading narratives, contextless quotes that make politicians sound like they're saying something different than what's intended, and cherry-picked bits of information that paint incomplete pictures of reality and guide people to the wrong conlcusions, all for the sake of better ratings and increased advertising revenue.
