This seems to be a case of certain individuals choosing to believe what they wish was true, as opposed to doing the work of figuring out what is actually true. Then they put that false narrative out there, get called out on it, and cry foul for being held accountable.

And they wonder why the public’s faith in mainstream media has dissipated to the degree that it has.
