To a lot of politics junkies and partisan activists, virtually every political “crisis” is the precursor to the second battle at Fort Sumter. To the rest of America, it’s just a Monday. That’s why I make it a point to turn off my internet (including my phone) at least one day a week and go spend an afternoon hanging around downtown. I don’t drink, but I like watching the bar-hoppers interact with each other. It keeps things in perspective for me (like baseball games do for you).
Also, couldn’t agree with you more about soccer and golf. They both bore me to death! To be honest, I’m not sure if golf even qualifies as a sport. The way I see it, if there’s no running, jumping, pitching, or hitting, I don’t really consider it a sport. A game? Sure. But not a sport!
