To be fair, demographic changes have played a pretty critical role in specific regions of the country. At least, that’s how it feels in my neck of the woods. But as you suggest, it doesn’t automatically follow that the nation as a whole will inevitably turn blue across the board. I think Leyden and Teixeira underestimate just how powerful cultural conservatism still is throughout much of the country.
